Dubai best golf event – White Eagle Greensomes Open 2021

Dubai couple awarded Masters style Black Jackets after winning UAE’s newest amateur title. “The Greensomes Open 2021 supported by White Eagle”

Husband and wife survive challenging Greensomes format at The Montgomerie Golf Club Dubai and Arabian Ranches Golf Club – “Greensomes is mentally tough and can really test a relationship! We will wear the Black Jackets proudly around the club” – said Adina Cameron.

DUBAI, Feb 3, 2021: Nick and Adina Cameron are UAE golf’s new power couple and have the fashion accessories to prove it. The Montgomerie Golf Club husband and wife team have been presented with Masters-style black jackets as the inaugural champions of The Greensomes Open, a unique new pairs event presented by Dubai multisports company White Eagle.

Hosted by The Montgomerie Golf Club Dubai and Arabian Ranches Golf Club on January 29-30 respectively, the 36-hole strokeplay event tested teams with the pairs format. Greensomes is similar to foursomes with the difference being that both players tee off, select the best ball and then play alternate shots from there until the ball is holed. Each player in The Greensomes Open 2021 supported by White Eagle had to contribute at least six drives in each round. “Greensomes is mentally tough and can really test a relationship,” 17-handicapper – Adina Cameron joked after the couple signed for scores of 66 (-6) at the Monty and
62 (-9) at Arabian Ranches for a net aggregate of 128 and a runaway 11-stroke victory margin.

“We love this format as it is a true strategic test of golf. It makes you think not just about your own game, but also how best to set up your partners next shot. “Fortunately, Nick [a 10-handicapper] and I have complementary games so we were able to balance out our strengths and weaknesses. Over the weekend I hit a lot of fairways and Nick’s irons were on form. We also got lucky and had a lot of putts go
our way.”

Hannah Alan and Glory Xavier were runners-up in the 88-strong field on 139 after
net scores of 75 (+3) and 64 (-7).

Subhojit Biswas and Michael Neider swept the gross division, meanwhile, returning
impressive rounds of three-under 69 at the Monty and 77 at Arabian Ranches to win
by five strokes.

But the ultimate glory went to the Camerons who are UAE golf’s new #relationshipgoals couple. “White Eagle put on a wonderful event and raised the test to a new level by making this a stroke-play event on two very different courses, meaning lots of focus and decision making was required,” said Adina. “It was great to bring the first White Eagle Greensomes title home for the Montgomerie. The black jackets are a great touch. We will wear them proudly around the club and look forward to awarding them to next year’s winning team.”
